Who We Are
The College of Health, Environmental, and Safety Studies, a member of the esteemed CHESS Group, was established in 2002. The college has had accreditation from The Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) since early 2009. It is the only institution offering an extensive range of HSE and related certified courses in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean region.

Training is integral for the success of businesses. It is essential for all staff members at every level of the organisation to understand the significance of maintaining environmental health and safety in the workplace.
We understand the importance of ensuring that employees are knowledgeable and possess the requisite information to execute their tasks safely and effectively while protecting the environment. As such, our training courses are valuable to all employees, including C-suite executives, supervisors, line managers, staff members with unique responsibilities, and new hires.
We provide the framework for success in HSE training
We offer a wide range of HSE and related courses, strategically focusing on providing specialist training in occupational safety, health, the environment, and related disciplines. Our clients can access NEBOSH, IOSH, ECSI, and BOHS-certified courses. With a team of experienced and qualified lecturers who possess local and international qualifications, our clients can tap into a wealth of diverse expertise.
We have the facilities and resources
We offer clients the flexibility of choosing in-house training or attending the CHESS Learning Centre. With our Conference Division, we host various events such as seminars, workshops, symposiums, and conferences. We host the West Indian Safety Health Hygiene and Environmental Symposium (WISHHES) annually, in addition to frequent workshops and quarterly seminars.
